DR-H150-200 Heated Hot Roller Press Machine

DR-H150-200 Heated Hot Roller Press Machine

DR-H150-200 Heated Hot Roller Press Machine (150 mm × 200 mm)

The DR-H150-200 heated hot roller press machine is a laboratory-scale calendaring system designed to compress coated battery electrodes after drying. By passing electrode sheets through hardened, polished steel rollers under controlled gap and temperature, the machine improves particle–particle contact, reduces porosity, enhances adhesion to current collectors, and increases electrode density—key factors for repeatable electrochemical performance in coin cells and pouch-cell research workflows.

How it works

Heated rollers apply a defined compressive force while the roller gap is set using a precision dial gauge. Temperature-assisted pressing can soften polymeric binders (within safe processing limits) and promote more uniform densification across the electrode width, helping researchers tune thickness, mass loading, and compaction for anode/cathode optimisation studies.

Key specifications

  • Roller size: 150 mm (diameter) × 200 mm (width)
  • Pressing thickness range: 0–3 mm (dial-gauge adjusted)
  • Max pressing width: up to 200 mm (custom options available)
  • Speed: 0–6.5 m/min adjustable
  • Heating range: ambient to 120 °C (optional higher-temperature customisation available)
  • Roller material properties: surface hardness > HRC62, surface finish ~0.8, hardening depth ~5 mm
  • Power / supply: AC 110/220 V, 50/60 Hz; high-power heating capability (model-dependent configuration)

Typical applications

  • Li-ion electrode calendaring (anode/cathode) for coin cells and small-format pouch cells
  • Electrode thickness/density optimisation prior to cycling or EIS
  • Research on binder systems, particle size distributions, and porosity–performance relationships

Why source via ScienceGears

We can help match the roller press configuration to your workflow (electrode width, heating, throughput) and ensure compatibility with adjacent steps such as coating/drying, glovebox handling, and downstream testing using battery cyclers and potentiostats for formation, cycling, and impedance measurements in Australia and New Zealand.
