Longer GF Series Flow-Rate Peristaltic Pumps
Touchscreen flow-rate-controlled pumps with calibration, timed delivery and RS485 integration
Overview
The Longer GF Series Flow-Rate Peristaltic Pumps provide controlled liquid delivery for laboratories, analytical instrumentation and research systems where flow-rate setting and calibration are important. The family comprises GF200-1B, GF400-1B and GF650-1B, with maximum drive speeds of 200, 400 and 650 rpm respectively. Unlike speed-only peristaltic pumps, the GF Series supports flow-rate and volume calibration, continuous operation, timed delivery and single-volume dispensing. Touchscreen controls and RS485 communication support both standalone use and compatible automated installations.
How the GF Series Works
A peristaltic pump transfers liquid by progressively compressing flexible tubing with rollers mounted in a rotating pump head. The fluid travels within the tubing without direct contact with the drive mechanism.
The GF Series allows users to work with flow-rate settings in addition to motor-speed settings. Calibration can account for differences between expected and measured delivery under the selected operating conditions.
The manufacturer also provides optional automatic calibration with a compatible flow meter. Continuous closed-loop feedback should not be assumed without the required flow-measurement configuration.

Compatible Pump Heads and Flow Rates
Different pump heads and tubing sizes provide different operating ranges. The manufacturer provides the following single-channel maximum flow-rate references.
| Pump-head configuration | GF200-1B | GF400-1B | GF650-1B |
|---|---|---|---|
| YZ1515X, 3 rollers | 730 mL/min | 1,460 mL/min | 2,350 mL/min |
| YZ2515X | 530 mL/min | 1,060 mL/min | 1,730 mL/min |
| YZ25-13X / YZII25 | 1,000 mL/min | 2,000 mL/min | 3,250 mL/min |
| FG15-13 | 800 mL/min | 1,600 mL/min | 2,600 mL/min |
| DG15-24 | 600 mL/min | 1,200 mL/min | 1,950 mL/min |
These are reference maxima for specified compatible tubing configurations. Actual delivery depends on tubing dimensions, pump-head geometry, liquid properties, pressure conditions and calibration.
Selecting the Appropriate GF Model
GF200-1B — Suitable when the required flow range can be achieved within a maximum drive speed of 200 rpm.
GF400-1B — Provides additional drive speed and higher flow capacity with compatible pump-head configurations.
GF650-1B — Provides the highest speed range within the GF family, supporting greater maximum reference flows where the selected head and tubing allow.
The highest-speed model is not automatically the most appropriate for every experiment. Low-flow performance, pulsation, tubing suitability and calibration requirements must also be considered.
Typical Applications
The GF Series may be considered for:
- Controlled laboratory liquid circulation and transfer
- Electrochemical flow-cell experiments
- Flow-chemistry and reactor research
- Analytical instrumentation and method development
- Controlled reagent addition and sample handling
- Laboratory process development and compatible automated fluid-handling systems
For corrosive electrolytes, solvents or specialised reagents, verify the chemical compatibility of all wetted tubing and connections.
Configuration and Integration
The GF Series supports manual operation, external operating signals and digital communication.
For automated equipment, check the controller's communication protocol, electrical signals and required control functions against the selected GF model.
The pump drive, pump head, tubing and optional accessories should be specified together. In particular, an external flow meter for automatic calibration must not be assumed to be included.
For applications requiring advanced repeated dispensing sequences, the Longer GD Series may be a more appropriate alternative.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the main difference between the GF and GS Series?
The GS Series primarily provides motor-speed control and timed pumping. The GF Series adds flow-rate and volume calibration, flow-rate-oriented operation and single-volume delivery functions.
Does the GF Series require a flow meter?
A separate flow meter is not required for all operating modes or manual calibration. However, automatic flow-meter-assisted calibration requires a compatible optional flow-measurement setup.
What are the maximum flow rates?
The manufacturer specifies maximum single-channel reference flows of 1,000, 2,000 and 3,250 mL/min for the GF200-1B, GF400-1B and GF650-1B respectively, with the appropriate YZ25-13X pump head and tubing.
Can the pump dispense a specified liquid volume?
Yes. The GF Series supports single-volume operation and time-based delivery. Actual delivered volume depends on the operating configuration and calibration.
Can the GF Series be controlled remotely?
Yes. The pumps provide external control options and RS485 communication supporting Modbus RTU or Longer OEM protocols. Integration must be verified for the chosen equipment.
Is the GF Series suitable for electrochemical flow systems?
It may be suitable for compatible experimental flow systems. The required flow range, tubing chemical resistance, pressure conditions and acceptable pulsation must be reviewed for the particular experiment.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Provide the liquid composition, required flow range, operating duration, pressure conditions, preferred tubing, number of channels and any remote-control or calibration requirements.
