ATR8000 Automated High-Throughput Raman Spectrometer

Automated multi-sample Raman screening with programmable trays and single- or dual-laser configurations

Description

The ATR8000 is an automated high-throughput Raman platform for laboratories that need to measure large batches of samples using a consistent programmed workflow. A precision motion system moves samples into the Raman measurement position while software coordinates acquisition, identification, reporting and sample tracking. Current documentation supports trays for up to 100 positions, replaceable or customised sample holders and both single- and dual-wavelength Raman configurations.

Product Overview

Manual Raman measurements become inefficient when tens or hundreds of samples must be screened under the same method.

ATR8000 automates:

  • sample positioning
  • Raman acquisition
  • data processing
  • sample-presence checking
  • result storage
  • report generation

This can reduce operator involvement and improve consistency between measurements.

How It Works

Samples are arranged in a defined tray.

The stage moves each sample to the Raman optical position. A sensor can determine whether a sample position is occupied and skip empty positions.

The configured Raman laser measures the sample either through the selected sampling geometry or sample container.

After acquisition, the software processes the spectrum and moves automatically to the next sample.

Sample Capacity and Tray Design

Current product literature documents up to 100 sample positions in a single run.

The actual tray can be changed or customised according to the sample form.

Potential sample types include:

  • vials
  • solid specimens
  • powders
  • SERS substrates
  • laboratory research samples

Final tray geometry should be confirmed before manufacture rather than assuming one standard holder is suitable for every sample.

Excitation Configurations

Documented single wavelengths include:

  • 532 nm
  • 633 nm
  • 785 nm
  • 1064 nm

Documented dual combinations include:

  • 785 + 1064 nm
  • 532 + 1064 nm
  • 532 + 633 nm
  • 633 + 1064 nm

Other configurations should only be quoted after confirmation.

Compatibility and Selection Guidance

ATR8000 should be selected because throughput and automation are necessary.

If only a few samples are measured each day, an ATR3xxx research instrument may be simpler.

Before configuring ATR8000, define:

  • number of samples
  • sample container/geometry
  • required laser wavelength
  • whether dual wavelength is useful
  • whether automatic identification is required
  • barcode/QR workflow
  • sample tray layout
  • desired report/output format

Why Source Through ScienceGears

ScienceGears can review the sample workflow and help define tray geometry, wavelength, sample capacity and whether automated library matching or research-spectrum acquisition is required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does ATR8000 measure 100 samples simultaneously?

No. Up to 100 samples can be loaded for one automated run, but the system measures the sample positions sequentially.

Can empty tray positions be skipped?

Yes, automatic sample-presence detection and empty-position skipping are documented.

Can the tray be customised?

Yes. Replaceable/customisable trays are part of the platform concept.

Can it use two laser wavelengths?

Dual-wavelength configurations are documented for several wavelength combinations.

Can it measure powders and liquids?

Yes with appropriate sample containers or holders, but the tray and optical geometry should be selected for the sample format.

Is ATR8000 a Raman microscope?

No. Its primary function is automated high-throughput sample screening rather than microscopic Raman imaging.
