Iron Nickel Foam
Fe-F Iron–Nickel Foam Metal Filter Sheet (2 mm, 200 × 300 mm)
Fe-F iron–nickel foam metal filter is an open-cell porous metallic sheet designed for laboratory and pilot-scale R&D where high surface area, permeability, and chemical robustness are required. Iron–nickel foams are widely used as structural current collectors, porous electrode backings, and catalyst supports in electrochemistry and battery testing, while also serving as durable filtration and gas-distribution media in harsh environments.
Working principle and mechanism
This material is a 3D interconnected metal network with controlled pore structure (ppi/aperture). The open porosity enables rapid transport of electrolyte or gas through the thickness, while the metallic framework provides mechanical integrity and an electrically conductive pathway for charge collection or catalytic coatings. In electrode builds, active materials can be coated or pressed into the foam to increase effective surface area and reduce transport limitations.
