PP/PE PVDF Ceramic Wet-Coated Separator (GRE-13FW2-2)

GRE-13FW2-2 separator is a PP/PE-based microporous battery separator engineered with a wet-coated PVDF ceramic functional layer on both sides to improve interfacial stability, electrolyte wettability, and dimensional reliability in demanding cell chemistries such as lithium–sulfur (Li–S) and high-rate lithium-ion research. The structure is designed as a multilayer film (2 µm PVDF + 9 µm PE + 2 µm PVDF), helping maintain ionic transport while adding a mechanically robust, better-wetting barrier layer.

Working principle

In electrochemical cells, the separator electrically isolates the electrodes while providing ion-conducting pathways through electrolyte-filled pores. A PVDF/ceramic wet coating can enhance electrolyte uptake and interfacial contact, supporting more stable cycling and reducing localised hot spots by improving uniform wetting and mechanical integrity. In Li–S research, functional coatings are commonly used as part of a broader strategy to mitigate parasitic species transport and improve operational stability.
