GB-1220 Single Workstation Glove Box
GB-1220 Single Workstation Glove Box
Overview
The GB-1220 Single Workstation Glove Box is a compact inert-atmosphere workstation designed for battery research, air-sensitive materials handling, and laboratory processes that require strict control of moisture and oxygen. This single-station system combines a sealed stainless steel chamber, closed-loop gas purification, dual transfer chambers, integrated analytical monitoring, and PLC-based control in one laboratory platform. Under standard operating conditions with high-purity inert gas, the system is designed to maintain very low H₂O and O₂ levels for sensitive electrochemistry and materials research.
Principle of Operation
The glove box works by isolating samples from ambient air and continuously recirculating the internal atmosphere through a purification column. In TOB’s single-station architecture, the circulation loop uses a high-flow fan and automatic regeneration logic to remove residual oxygen and moisture from the enclosure. This approach is particularly important for lithium metal handling, electrolyte preparation, and other operations where trace water or oxygen can rapidly degrade materials or affect electrochemical behaviour.
Key Features and Specifications

These features are well suited to controlled sample transfer, low-leakage operation, and repeatable handling of sensitive battery materials and research chemicals.
Compatibility and Applications
This glove box is especially suitable for coin cell research, lithium metal work, supercapacitor studies, electrolyte handling, precursor preparation, and metal-organic or other air-sensitive synthesis tasks. TOB also notes that this chamber size is suitable for button cell research, while larger multi-workstation systems are typically preferred for more space-intensive cylindrical or pouch-cell workflows. The platform also pairs naturally with related ScienceGears categories such as battery cyclers, electrode processing tools, electrochemical cells, and potentiostat-based characterisation workflows.
Why Choose ScienceGears
ScienceGears offers more than supply alone. For researchers in Australia and New Zealand, the value lies in selecting a glove box that fits the real workflow, gas purity requirement, and downstream electrochemistry instrumentation. The GB-1220 provides a practical balance between footprint, purification performance, analytical monitoring, and usability for day-to-day R&D in battery and materials laboratories.
