LA Aqueous Binder (Acrylonitrile Multi-Copolymer Dispersion) – LA132/LA133

LA132/LA133 is a water-based (aqueous) binder supplied as a milky white to light yellow viscous emulsion. It is an acrylonitrile multi-copolymer dispersion engineered to provide strong particle–particle and particle–current collector adhesion while supporting stable electrode microstructures during mixing, coating, drying, calendaring, and electrochemical cycling. The chemistry is designed for good oxidative and reductive stability, making it suitable for both cathode and anode formulations.

Selecting LA132 vs LA133

  • LA133 (higher viscosity): better powder suspension and anti-settling behaviour, often preferred for higher surface-area powders or when longer pot life is needed.
  • LA132: suitable for general slurry binding where lower viscosity aids wetting and coatability.

Typical Use & Compatibility

Commonly used as a binder for Li-ion cathodes and anodes, including materials such as LFP, LCO, spinel-type oxides, NMC-type materials, graphite/carbon anodes, activated carbon, and related conductive additive systems.
Typical binder addition (guideline): anode 2–5%, cathode 1.5–4% (LFP may require slightly higher loading depending on formulation and areal loading).
