Sealed Tubular Electrochemical Cell with Titanium T-Bar Electrode Clamps

Small-Volume Sealed Cell for Controlled Electrochemical Reactions

The Sealed Tubular Electrochemical Cell with Titanium T-Bar Electrode Clamps is designed for small-volume electrolysis, electrochemical synthesis, electrode screening and controlled reaction studies. The tubular glass body provides a compact reaction chamber, while the screw-type PTFE lid helps seal the cell during experiments that require controlled electrolyte exposure, gas purging or reduced atmospheric interference.

Principle of Operation

In operation, two sheet, foil, mesh or plate electrodes are fixed using the titanium T-bar electrode clamps and immersed into the electrolyte. A potentiostat, galvanostat or DC power supply applies potential or current between the electrodes, driving oxidation and reduction reactions at the electrode surfaces. The side valve or gas port can be used for inert gas purging, gas outlet connection or controlled atmosphere handling, depending on the experimental setup.

Key Features and Material Details

  • Small-volume tubular glass cell for efficient use of electrolyte and reagents
  • PTFE screw lid for chemical resistance and sealing support
  • Titanium T-bar clamps for holding thin electrode materials securely
  • Suitable for electrode sheets, metal foils, carbon paper, graphite plates, mesh electrodes and catalyst-coated substrates
  • Side gas or liquid handling port for purging, venting or connection to auxiliary tubing
  • Compact design suitable for benchtop electrochemistry and synthetic electrochemistry workflows

Compatibility and Applications

This cell is suitable for two-electrode electrolysis, electrosynthesis, catalyst testing, organic electrochemical reactions, gas-sensitive experiments, redox studies and preliminary electrode material screening. It can be used with potentiostats, galvanostats, electrochemical workstations and related ScienceGears accessories, including reference electrodes, counter electrodes, custom electrochemical cells, Raman-SEC cells and battery research tools.

ScienceGears supports researchers in selecting the right cell geometry, electrode clamp material and connection method for their application, helping ensure practical compatibility with the chosen electrolyte, electrode substrate and instrument setup.
