Zinc-Air Photoelectric Electrolytic Test Cell

Zinc-Air Photoelectric Electrolytic Test Cell

Description

The Zinc-Air Photoelectric Electrolytic Test Cell is a compact, PTFE-based research cell designed to support controlled electrochemical measurements of zinc-air related electrodes and electrocatalysts with optional light exposure through a quartz optical window. Its chemically robust construction and defined illumination geometry make it suitable for systematic performance and durability studies in alkaline and other compatible electrolytes.

Principle of operation

This cell enables a stable electrolyte-immersed working electrode configuration while providing optical access through a quartz window. When connected to a potentiostat/galvanostat, researchers can compare dark vs illuminated responses, investigate photo-assisted electrocatalysis, and quantify changes in kinetics and stability relevant to zinc-air systems.

Key features and specifications

  • Cell material: PTFE
  • Cell volume: 20 mL / 50 mL / 100 mL
  • Customisable lid: hole drilled according to electrode size
  • Working electrode sample size:

               - 14 mm (≈0.5 cm²)
               - 16 mm (≈1 cm²)
               - Thickness: 1 mm

  • Reaction area options:

          - 0.5 cm² (Ø 8 mm)
          - 1 cm² (Ø 11.28 mm)
