KLS High Temperature Polyimide (PI) Tape is a silicone-adhesive, polyimide film tape engineered for electrically insulating, sealing, and mechanically securing components during lithium battery and battery pack assembly. The PI backing provides robust dielectric performance and dimensional stability, while the silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive delivers reliable bonding to metals and polymer surfaces commonly used in cell and pack construction.
Principle & Working Mechanism
Polyimide film acts as the primary insulating barrier, reducing the risk of short circuits by separating conductive parts (e.g., tabs, busbars, can edges, and weld zones). The silicone adhesive wets and anchors to surfaces, maintaining adhesion during thermal cycling and handling, while allowing clean application for production workflows.
