The VFC series vacuum film coating machine with dryer is a compact, laboratory-scale tape casting system designed for preparing uniform thin films and battery electrodes on metal foils. It integrates a vacuum chuck to hold substrates flat during coating and a controlled heating/drying stage to accelerate solvent removal and improve coating repeatability.

Principle of operation

A slurry (e.g., cathode/anode ink, polymer or ceramic suspension) is applied onto a substrate fixed on an aluminium alloy flat vacuum chuck. A micrometre-adjustable doctor blade (slicer) controls the wet film thickness, while a motorised carriage produces a consistent coating stroke at a defined speed. The built-in heating/drying system supports controlled evaporation to help reduce defects such as edge beading, pinholes, and thickness gradients.
