XJB-500 Vacuum Planetary Mixer

The XJB-500 Vacuum Planetary Mixer is a compact, lab-scale mixer designed to prepare uniform anode and cathode slurries under vacuum. By combining planetary shear with vacuum degassing, it helps minimise entrapped air and improves slurry wetting, dispersion behaviour, and coating consistency—critical for repeatable battery electrode fabrication and electrochemistry research workflows.

Principle of operation

A dual-shaft planetary stirring structure promotes intensive mixing and dispersion while the sealed stainless-steel tank is evacuated to reduce bubbles during mixing. This is particularly beneficial for viscous binder–solvent–powder systems (e.g., PVDF/NMP or water-based binders) where air inclusion can lead to pinholes, poor adhesion, and variability in electrochemical testing results.
