Precision slitting for battery electrode foils

The FT-500 Manual Electrode Slitting Machine is designed for longitudinal cutting (slitting) of battery electrode sheets used in rechargeable lithium-ion cell manufacturing. It is commonly used after coating and drying, to convert wider electrode sheets into consistent strip widths for downstream processes such as rolling/pressing, notching, stacking, and winding.

Working principle and mechanism

Slitting is achieved using upper and lower round knives arranged in a single-knife hobbing configuration. As the electrode sheet passes through the cutting zone, the paired circular blades shear the coated foil cleanly. Proper blade alignment and controlled feed help minimise edge defects and reduce burr formation, supporting repeatable electrode quality in R&D and pilot production.
